Vores blommetræ er på sit højeste lige nu. Der bugner med søde lækre blommer, og jeg spiser og spiser, og alligevel er der mange endnu. I dag kom jeg i tanke om en ret vi fik hos min mormor engang. Jeg mindes den som varm og med flødeskum og kammerjunkere på, men min blev kold og med hjemmelavet vaniljeis i. Et rigtig fint bytte, nu hvor det er sommer. Men den kan sagtens serveres varm, når vi kommer hen i efteråret og der er brug for noget at varme sig på.

- 750 gr blommer uden sten
- 4 dl vand
- ca. 3 dl sukker
- 1 vaniljestang
Skær blommer over i halve og fjern stenen. Vaniljestangen flækkes og kernerne skrabes ud og blandes med 1 tsk. af sukkeret. Kom blommerne i en gryde sammen med vand, 2 dl sukker, vaniljekerne og den tomme vaniljestang. Kog det hele sagte i ca. 20 min eller indtil blommerne er kogt ud.
Fisk vaniljestangen op og blend det hele til den så jævn suppe som muligt
Hæld suppen igennem en finmasket si. Det blommemos der er tilbage, smager fortrinligt oven på din yoghurt eller på brødet.
Suppen smages til, måske der skal den sidste dl sukker i, men det kan du bedst smage dig frem til. Jeg kan ikke have den for sød, men måske du gerne vil have den sødere.Kommer du mere sukker i, så varm lige suppen op, så sukkeret smelter.
Afkøl suppen inden den sættes i køleskabet i mindst 4 timer, eller i fryseren i ca. ½ time. Den skal serveres iskold.
Ved servering kommer du en kugle vaniljeis midt i suppen og evt. lidt ristede mandelsnitter.
Min mormor ville servere kammerjunkere til, men jeg synes nu det smager bedre med lidt is, creme fraiche eller flødeskum.
